Xbox 360 portable power supply. How much power would be needed?
I've been toying with the idea of making my 360 portable. I'm not talking walking down the street portable but something that wouldn't be that much of a hassle to put into a car or something. My friend made it to where he could play his ps2 while riding down the road. If possible i need to keep the price below $100 to $150. I can handle the T.V. aspect of the portable xbox problem but im not sure how much power it would take to power the xbox for about 10 to 15 hours without switching the power supply. Plz any help is apreciated.
The 360 pulls some monster current, unless you keep the engine running you are likely going to dry up your battery pretty fast even with the most efficient inverter in far less time then 10 hours.
Xbox=200 to 300 watts at 12 volts=25 Amps of draw
Typical car battery 50 to 100Amp Hour
Average play time would be 4 hours with the biggest battery available and this isn't even considering the losses you experience in the inverter which is undeniably pretty high.
