Oscilloscope Project Part

Device to measure sound wave frequency?
As part of a physics/trigonometry hobby project, I need to graph the frequency of sound waves (of a person singing; pitch). What's a device that can accurately measure the frequency in Hz or measurement convertable to Hz?
(I heard something about oscilloscopes, but I thought those measured voltage.)
Oscilloscope is the tool, they display voltage versus time, so they can measure either.
This will be difficult, as the pitch (frequency) of a singer is not that steady, plus it has all sort of harmonics.
If you have a piano and a good ear, you can compare the singers pitch with the piano keys, and find the matching note. Then you can look up that note and find it's frequency.
