Meter Oscilloscope Dmm
What does the 50 ohm label on the output terminal mean on a signal generator?
The signal generator have many options for generating different wave forms. It also have BMC connector labeled as "OUTPUT 50 ohm"
1) What does the 50 ohm label on the output terminal mean?
2)If you were to select the sinusoidal output at a frequency of 1Khz, can you use the lab DMM, Bench Digital meter and/or Oscilloscope to measure Vrms.
3)If you were to select the sinusoidal output at a frequency of 10Mhz, can you use the lab DMM, Bench Meter and/or Oscilloscope to measure Vrms.
1. means it needs a 50 ohms transmission line to match the signal source.
2. Some digital meter limits to 400c/s but some is able to measure 1Khz Vrms.
Scope only measure peak to peak value, not Vrms value.
3.No digital meter able to measure 10MHz Vrms value.
Scope only measure peak to peak value, not Vrms value. Cheap made scope cannot measure 10Mhz.
Read its specification.
