Which Multimeter setting is used to test a live light switch when the breaker is unknown and trying to find it?
I have a light that will not turn on, not a bad bulb, but I do not know which breaker from the breaker box it is on. I want to turn off the breaker before I begin but need to know how I test using the multimeter to see if I have the correct breaker turned off. The multimeter I'm using has two ACV settings of 750 and 200. It also has Ohms of 200, 2000, 20k, 200k, 200k. DCV seetings are 200m 2000m 20, 200, 1000. Then DCA 200u, 2000u, 20m, 200m. I believe it is either the ACV or Ohms settings that I need though.
ACV 750 or 200 will work
